Accessibility statement for the File a confirmation statement service

This service is run by Companies House. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text disappearing off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text simple to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this service is

We know some parts of this service are not fully accessible. We know that on the sign in screen:

  • the ‘skip to content’ link does not become visible when it should
  • when people interact with links using a keyboard, the link text does not change to black and the focus state style does not meet accessibility standards
  • the yellow colour used let people know which element they’re currently on (focus state) has poor colour contrast
  • error messages are not communicated to screen reader users when they are triggered

We also know that:

  • on the company number screen, some elements are not labelled correctly
  • on GOV.UK Pay, the autocomplete value on the ‘country or territory’ section has been set to an incorrect value and may not function correctly
