The funders are consulted on a regular basis prior to the submission of funding bids, on the awards of grants and commissions and via evaluation meetings and reports. Our core funders include The Linbury Trust and Arts Council England. The Arts partners are dance, heritage and arts and culture organisations who support or collaborate on the delivery of our community engagement, performance programming and artist development work. Examples of arts partners include Swindon Dance (dance agency), Torquay Museum (heritage), Exeter Northcott (presenting venue) and National Dance Company Wales (dance company). We also work with partners who do not directly work in the arts but engage with arts organisations, such as Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust. Workshop participants are people who take part in our community participatory workshops, which take the form of individual creative dance workshops, to performance and film projects. Participants offer written feedback after workshops, verbal feedback to camera or fascilitator or online feedback via email and/or social media. The commissioned/supported artists Richard Chappell Dance works with include freelance dancers who are employed to tour the company’s productions alongside artists such as musicians, visual artists, technicians and filmmakers who the company collaborates with.
