Activities in the YearWhitchurch C.I.C. continues to run local activities such as:The Whitchurch Pub RaceBonfire and Firework NightWe'll Meet Again Film NightEach event provides local outdoor activities and entertainment for the community of Whitchurch. In total the events reach out to and are enjoyed by 4000+ persons from the local community. The events are specifically designed to ensure they appeal to all age ranges throughout the town. Unfortunately, due to poor weather in Winter 2019, the Bonfire and Firework Night was cancelled, however the Whitchurch Pub Race in the Summer of 2019 was a great success.Whitchurch C.I.C. continues to provide wholesome fun family events, and the directors are now moving their focus to raising the profile of volunteer requirements to ensure that all the events carry on.Additional efforts to improve volunteer numbers is being driven between Whitchurch CIC and the Whitchurch Town council and other volunteer groups in Whitchurch. Everyone is very positive that the additional persons will come on board to ensure the success of the CIC continues in the forthcoming years.Future EventsThe World Health Organisation (WHO) officially declared the Coronavirus (COVID-19) out-break a global pandemic on 11 March 2020. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic the Whitchurch Pub Race and Bonfire & Firework Night were both cancelled in 2020.With the successful production of a COVID-19 vaccination, it is hoped that community events can be safely organised by Whitchurch C.I.C. in the next year.
The company’s stakeholders are the residents and visitors of Whitchurch Hampshire. The 3 Directors have lived within Whitchurch for a combined total of 100 years and have a strong vested interest that the company does everything it can to support and help the community. Throughout 2020 the Directors broadcast to the Town Council, Local Authorities, Community, and local business seeking approval, collaboration and assurance that all Whitchurch C.I.C.s activities are in the interests of the community of Whitchurch, and that all events will be carried out in a safe and controlled manner.
