Directors agreed on film and storytelling for the Jewish Watchmakers story to be linked to issues of contemporary migration. A funding application was submitted to the Coventry City Arts Fund and was awarded in September 2022. The total amount awarded was £9720. A story telling event when the film was also shown was held on March 18th, 2023 entitled Hidden Histories: Migration Stories. The above event shown to over 80 people in a public venue,A book on Coventry Jewish watchmakers by a local historian was published and sold at the event. This has raised over £1000 in total for a local charity Carriers of Hope. As a result, further work was planned and STAMP CIC has been invited to repeat this work across the city of Coventry. The Herbert Gallery was approached, and the film will be part of an exhibition on the History of the Watchmakers and Jewish Coventry, to be opened the following autumn. This will include a display and archive. A Seminar on Enhancing the Impact of Research using the Arts were offered and delivered to Life Sciences at the University of Warwick in March 2023 attended by 20 research academics. As a result further work was planned for 2024.The central sculpture from the installation IDNA 22-23 has now found a home in the reception hall of the Life Sciences Building at the University of Warwick. This is seen by several hundred students/public and staff each day. The sculpture which was created from the research of Professor Felicity Boardman is currently on accession to the University of Warwick.
We have developed and carried out collaborative projects with partners who provided both funding and research. Namely Coventry City Council Arts Funding and The Watchmaker Project in Coventry, The Coventry Refugee Centre, and the Coventry Council Migrant Centre. These stakeholders have been consulted concerning the making of a short film and storytelling event. The stakeholders were consulted during the remit and direction of the projects and kept fully informed of work in progress through meetings workshops and interim reports. These stakeholders were consulted during the informed consent process and viewed the completed film.Other stakeholders and participants involved in this film project were The Herbert A rt Gallery and Museum for future planning. A seminar on the Impact of Research was offered and delivered to the School of Life Sciences, University of Warwick which has impacted positively on future planning. Life Sciences are currently supporting the installation of the sculpture IDNA from a previous tour which is on accession to the University of Warwick.
