During the financial year, our core activities included the provision of after-school boxing classes to primary and secondary schools, boxing empowerment programmes for vulnerable young people and young carers, a boxing academy summer camp and a cybersecurity summer workshop, adult boxing fitness and boxercise classes for those with Type 2 Diabetes. Our programmes have been funded by Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund (GNGF), BBC Children in Need: Youth Social Action Fund, London Catalyst, ASDA Foundation, and our crowdfunding efforts. We have built strong partnerships with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) , part of the Young Greenwich Partnership to deliver targeted programs for vulnerable young people. In August 2022, we formed Champions 4 Change Amateur Boxing Club CIC to provide a sustainable service to young people residing in Glyndon, Plumstead, Abbey Wood, Woolwich and Charlton. Membership of the boxing club has been growing thanks to local support and referrals from various social services agencies in Greenwich. In November 2022, we created our Youth Management Team (YMT) which reports to the board of directors. The YMT was constituted to empower our young members to take charge of the 6-month planning phase for our after-school boxing programme which is funded by the BBC CIN Youth Social Action Fund until March 2024.In March 2023, we were awarded a 3-year funding contract by CACT to deliver boxing empowerment programmes for young carers at the Glyndon Community Centre in Plumstead. In addition, we have received 12-week funding for vulnerable young people from Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund.During 2023-24, we look forward to delivering another year of sustainable service for vulnerable young people and adults in Greenwich, Lambeth, Islington, and neighbouring London boroughs.
The company’s stakeholders are the local community, our funders, participating organisations such as, school liaison officers, social services and outreach organisations which refer clients to us.We conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure we are achieving the best outcomes for our clients. We have empowered our stakeholders to contribute to the development of our programmes to ensure their voices and opinions are considered in all decisions and strategies.
