Following our very successful Tuning Up classical music festival at HMP Whitemoor in 2019 for the residents and their families, we produced the first photographic record and publication of a music festival in a high security environment 'Ode to Joy'. This was a document of record for the residents and their family members who had participated, as well as for the leaders of HM Prisons and Probation Service. It was very well-received. Sir Nicholas Serota, chair of Arts Council England, commented:"I visited the ACE offices for the first time in eight months last week and found waiting for me your beautifully produced Report on the HMP Whitemoor/Britten Sinfonia project. I am very pleased to have a copy and look forward to being able to make use of the findings and some of the quotes from musicians, staff and residents."Following the production and dissemination of the report and the arrival of lockdown in all prisons across the country, we produced a CD for the residents who had participated and for their family members. The CD also set out musical exercises for them to undertake alone or in small groups to prepare for the next festival, inspired by the music of Sir Edward Elgar.COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions meant we have not been able to programme live events for most of 2020, however we are planning and hope to resume live events at HMP Whitemoor and elsewhere from the autumn of 2021.
Our stakeholders and partners were the Arts Council England, Orchestras Live, Britten Sinfonia, HMP Whitemoor, HM Prisons and Probation Service. They have all been fully consulted about the development, delivery and outcomes of the work, which has been fully supported by all stakeholders.
Directors' remuneration is clearly identified in the accounts and it is confirmed that there were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors or compensation for directors for loss of office which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
