1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
|
Loch Employment Law Limited is a

The presentation currency of the financial statements is the Pound Sterling (£). |

2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
|
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
|
|
Turnover |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
|
Revenue is recognised as work is completed. Revenue not billed is included in debtors as work in progress and payments on account in excess of the relevant amount of revenue is deposited in client bank accounts not shown in these accounts as according to accepted practice. |
|
Tangible fixed assets |
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost (or deemed cost) less accumulated depreciation and accumulated impairment losses. Cost includes costs directly attributable to making the asset capable of operating as intended by management. |
|
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its useful life. |
|

Fixtures and fittings | - 20% on reducing balance |
Computer equipment | - 33% on cost |

Work in progress is valued at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs |

Financial instruments |
Financial liabilities and equity instruments are classified according to the substance of the contractual arrangements entered into. An equity instrument is any contract that evidences a residual interest in the assets of the entity after deducting all of its financial liabilities. |

Taxation |
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
|
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
|
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |

Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
|
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
|
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
|
Hire purchase and leasing commitments |
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease. |
|
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
The company operates a defined contribution plan for its employees. A defined contribution plan is a pension plan under which the Company pays fixed contributions into a separate entity. Once the contributions have been paid the Company has not further payment obligations. |
|
The contributions are recognised as an expense in the Income Statement when they fall due. Amounts not paid are shown in accruals as a liability on the Balance Sheet. The assets of the plan are held separately from the Company in independently administered funds. |
|
Government assistance |
Included in bank loans is a bounce back loan which is guaranteed by the government. As part of the bounce back loan scheme the government paid the first year of interest on the loan. |
|
