1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
Searchlighter Services Limited is a
company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page. |
2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
Going concern |
The company meets its day-to-day working capital requirements through its bank facility and support from the |
shareholder/director. After making enquiries, the director has a reasonable expectation that the company has |
adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The company therefore |
continues to adopt the going concern basis in preparing its financial statements. |
Income |
Income is recognised when the company has entitlement to the funds, any performance conditions attached to |
the item(s) of income have been met, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be |
measured reliably. Income received in advance of a service is deferred until the criteria for income recognition |
are met. Income arises in the United Kingdom. |
Income from government and other grants, whether 'capital' grants or 'revenue' grants, is recognised when the |
company has entitlement to the funds, any performance conditions attached to the grants have been met, it is |
probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably and is not deferred. |
Intangible assets |
Intangible assets are initially measured at cost. After initial recognition, intangible assets are measured at cost |
less any accumulated amortisation and any accumulated impairment losses. |
Tangible fixed assets |
Plant and machinery etc | - |
Tangible fixed assets are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated |
impairment losses. Historical cost includes expenditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the |
location and condition necessary for it to be capable of operating in the manner intended by management. |
Financial instruments |
a) Debtors |
Basic financial assets, including trade and other debtors, are initially recognised at transaction price, unless the |
arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the |
future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Such assets are subsequently carried at amortised cost |
using the effective interest method, less any impairment. |
b) Creditors |
Basic financial liabilities, including trade and other creditors, loans from third parties and loans from related |
parties, are initially recognised at transaction price, unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, |
where the debt instrument is measured at the present value of the future payments discounted at a market rate |
of interest. Such instruments are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the effective interest method, less |
any impairment. |
c) Cash at bank and in hand |
Cash and cash equivalents are represented by cash in hand, deposits held at call with financial institutions, and |
other short-term highly liquid investments that mature in no more than three months from the date of acquisition |
and that are readily convertible to known amounts of cash with insignificant risk of change in value. |
d) Interest income |
Interest income is recognised in profit or loss using the effective interest method. |
