Unfortunately, as we began seeing the spread of coronavirus, many of our members took to shielding for their safety and
in March 2020, we had to close our doors to the community for the time being. However, we met with Pyle Community
Council and have arranged for a meal delivery service partially subsidised by the council, staffed by Talbot Community
Centre and driven by volunteers to be available for the over 70s and those with health conditions that require them to
shield for the foreseeable future. This has led to a massive uptick in people ordering meals with a peak of 120 meals
being provided per day. This has continued until July 2020 when the subsidy has ended. We have continued providing
the meals ongoing with volunteers delivering them. We have lost most of our income that was provided through room
rentals and people using the hall. However, we have managed to increase our income through the meal service and am
hoping for a better year end in 2021.
